Abstract

|
Objectives: This study explores the effectiveness and meaning of reflecting-team practices in therapeutic environments in Korea.
Method: Six therapists who conducted therapy sessions with reflecting teams participated in this qualitative study.
Results: Three main themes and seven sub-themes were found as the result of the group interview. Participants reported that the reflecting teams were beneficial in providing different perspectives and in enriching clients¡¯ narratives. Additionally, they were helpful in lowering tensions present between therapists and clients. The reflecting teams provided a sense of openness to the therapy and created a supportive environment in which clients felt the sense of reality and partnership with team members.
Conclusions: Reflecting teams can contribute to the culture of therapy, both as an alternative to supervision and as a means of helping both clients and therapists.
